On October 19, 1995, the Costa del Sol 93.1 FM station went on air in Güiria. This first frequency modulated station ends the gap left by the Radio Güiria Internacional station for 16 years. It was of paramount importance for the region to obtain a concession for the operation of a radio station in a place as distant from the centers of Venezuelan power as Güiria, located in the border area between Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago, which is flooded the 24 hours of the day by the hertzian waves of English-speaking stations from the neighboring country. Today Güiria and the neighboring cities have a means of communication, for their entertainment and educational and cultural training, the programming is entertaining and disseminates the cultural work of the region. The towns of Paria do not have a prosperous trade that guarantees the maintenance of this station, but that does not matter, because it is the vocation of service of those who work in it, which makes this miracle of Güireña communication possible.
