Kohala Radio KNKR 96.1 LP FM is a listener supported, non-commercial, nonprofit, community radio station in partnership with the Kohala High and Middle schools. We broadcast exclusively to North Kohala on Hawaii Island.
KNKR Radio reflects the North Kohala community by offering programming by a wide variety of local volunteers. We encourage cultural diversity and provide a platform for creative expression.
KNKR 96.1FM promotes and broadcasts local community activities and events and presents local emergency broadcasting for the community.

Think I’ve died and gone to Radio Heaven!!!
KNKR is the best station by far
all the DJ’s and genres of music deserve a gold star.
Even if you never play any of the LOVEBYTES songs
you have a new fan in Cali from this moment on.
So many memories of days gone by
songs from my parents’ time brings a tear to my eye
songs from the 60’s takes me right back
to a kinder, gentler time where folks gave each other some slack.
So, if my TV is off, KNKR is on
can’t wait to hear WHATEVER is the next song.
