Privacy Policy

Last updated November 2, 2026

Listen Online Radio ("we", "us", or "our") runs an online directory where you can find and play live radio stations and podcasts. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. It applies to this website and to the Listen Online Radio player that broadcasters embed on their own sites.

Who We Are

Listen Online Radio is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us about privacy at [email protected] or through the privacy request form.

Information We Collect

If you listen or browse

You don't need an account to use Listen Online Radio. When you use the site we collect:

  • Listening activity: which station or podcast you play, when, for how long, how you reached it (for example a search engine or another website), and your country, which we work out from your IP address when you press play. We don't save the IP address.
  • Device data: your IP address and browser user agent, which our servers and hosting providers receive with every request. We save them with comments and reports you send, and in a security log of the pages and forms requested on the site, for a short time to stop spam, abuse, and attacks, then delete them automatically. Plays, likes, favorites, ratings, and contact messages are never added to that log.
  • Anonymous guest ID: a random identifier in a cookie, created only when you like, favorite, rate, comment, report, or play something, so we can remember your choices and count them once.
  • What you choose to send us: likes, favorites, ratings, comments (with the name you enter), reports about stations, podcasts, or comments, and contact form messages (name, email address, and message).
  • Advertising data: Google AdSense collects cookie identifiers and browsing data to show ads, as described under Advertising.

If you are a broadcaster or podcaster

  • Account information: your name and email address. You sign in with one-time email links, and we briefly record the IP address and browser of each sign-in for security, then delete them automatically.
  • Listing information: details you submit about your station or podcast, including any public contact details you choose to publish.
  • Ownership claims and support: documents you upload to prove you own a station, and the messages in your support tickets.

Cookies & Local Storage

We use a small number of cookies and browser storage items to keep you signed in, protect forms, remember your theme, and remember your anonymous likes and favorites. Our advertising partner also uses cookies. See our Cookie Policy for the full list. The embedded player on broadcasters' websites does not set any cookies.

Advertising

We show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time with the Privacy & Cookie Settings link in the footer.

Everywhere else, our cookie banner lets you accept or reject advertising cookies. If you reject them, you may still see ads, but they won't be personalized. To change your choice later, clear this site's data in your browser and the banner will ask again.

If you are in California or another US state with a similar privacy law, you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for advertising with the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the footer. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal sent by your browser as a valid opt-out request.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who process it for us: our hosting provider, Cloudflare (content delivery, security, and country detection), and Amazon Web Services (sending email).
  • Google, as our advertising partner (see Advertising).
  • Broadcasters, who see aggregated listening statistics for their own station or podcast. They never see your IP address or guest ID.
  • Authorities or other parties when the law requires it, or when it's needed to protect our rights, our users, or the public.
  • A buyer or successor, if Listen Online Radio is ever sold or merged, under the same protections as this policy.

Comments you post, including the name you enter, are public. The advertising cookies described above may count as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under some US state privacy laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

International Transfers

Our service providers and Google may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. When personal information from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland is transferred, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, as offered by those providers.

Your Rights (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)

You have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
  • have inaccurate information corrected;
  • have your information deleted;
  • restrict or object to how we use it, including use based on our legitimate interests;
  • receive information you gave us in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier use; for advertising, use Privacy & Cookie Settings in the footer;
  • complain to your local data protection authority.

To use these rights, send a privacy request or email [email protected]. We respond within one month. If you don't have an account, tell us roughly when and on which pages you used the site; we may ask for your guest ID so we can find your data.

Your Rights (California and Other US States)

Notice at collection. In the last 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (IP address, cookie and guest IDs, and the name and email address you give us); internet or other electronic network activity (pages viewed, stations and podcasts played, and ad interactions); approximate location (country); and, for broadcasters, account and professional information. We use them for the purposes in How We Use Information and keep them for the periods in How Long We Keep Information. We share identifiers and internet activity with Google for advertising, which may be a "sale" or "sharing" under these laws. We do not collect sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.

Depending on your state, you have the right to:

  • know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, sell, or share;
  • delete it, or correct it if it's inaccurate;
  • opt out of its sale or sharing for advertising: use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the footer, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser;
  • not be treated differently for using these rights.

To make a request, use the privacy request form or email [email protected]. You can also ask an authorized agent to act for you. We verify requests by matching the details you give us with the data we hold, and we respond within 45 days.

Children

Listen Online Radio is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. We don't knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. If you think a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Third-Party Streams & Embeds

Station streams and podcast episodes are hosted by the broadcasters and creators themselves, not by us. Playing a stream connects your browser directly to that third party's server, which may have its own privacy practices outside our control.

Security

We use HTTPS throughout the site, keep IP addresses only as long as stated above, and limit access to personal information to the people who need it to run Listen Online Radio. No online service can guarantee complete security, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities of a breach where the law requires it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and for significant changes we'll give more prominent notice on the site.
