Radio Pryzmat Description:

Since 1993, the Journalism Academy has been operating in the Old Town Youth Culture Center in Krakow, which brings together youth from high schools and students. During the classes at the Journalism Academy, young people learn the theory of journalism and the journalist’s workshop, as well as learn radio and television editing. The greatest asset of the Academy is that it allows to verify the acquired knowledge in practice thanks to cooperation with local media. Young people from the SCKM Journalism Academy received numerous awards for radio programs, radio and television reports and the Nietakt magazine.

Thanks to the agreement of SCKM and EKSIT and co-financing by District Council I in Krakow and the Pedagogical University, the Internet Radio Pryzmat was created. This place was created for young people who would like to improve their journalistic skills through practical activities. The main goal of our activity is to promote and create local activity, primarily artistic, cultural and self-governmental. Work on the radio gives young people the opportunity to develop their interests, and journalistic contacts with people of culture, art and self-government contribute to their intellectual and artistic development. Our programs are addressed to people of all ages, so the program blocks are well suited to the expectations of listeners – there is time for broadly understood culture, self-government, education,as well as a block entirely prepared for children – by children. Among other radio stations, Radio Pryzmat distinguishes its focus on the “living word” and substantive discussion, to which we invite our listeners. They can interactively participate in the radio program and openly express their views.
