Radio Mart makes radio from the heart. Radio Mart stands for Multicultural Amsterdam Radio and Television. The Multi Cultural Communication foundation of which Radio Mart is a part, was established on May 2, 1984. Radio Mart is originally a Surinamese radio station. Radio Mart is an objective of Radio Mart to promote communication at local, regional and national level between the various ethnic groups in the Netherlands. Radio Mart has been the discussion channel of multicultural Amsterdam and its surroundings for years with an average group of listeners of 80,000 households per day. The interaction between the listeners and the program makers and any studio guests is very important.
For example, Radio Mart wants to contribute to promoting understanding and respect between the different ethnic minorities. You as a listener are very welcome to talk and think. This can be done literally, by calling during the broadcast, but also, for example, by responding to the website. This gives you room to express your opinion and to listen to the opinions of others. This makes Radio Mart an important stage, a meeting place, a sounding board and a monitor. Radio Mart knows better than anyone the social and cultural needs of its target group of all ages. Radio Mart is a voluntary broadcaster and has no profit motive. Volunteers create and present the programs under the inspiring leadership of director Norman van Gom. Other volunteers do a lot of work behind the scenes.
