As Ayn Rand goes,”A culture is made or destroyed by its articulate voices.” In preserving a culture,the fight is not about the land or money,not about power and position-the fight is about the people.
It’s here that we step in,as Radio Sharda,a Community Radio especially aimed at the betterment of the displaced people of Kashmir.With our Motto of “Booziv ti khosh rooziv” (listen and be happy). Radio Sharda-inaugurated on December5,2011 is a brain child of the PIR PANCHAL.
Pir Panchal is a Non-Government organization, headed by Mr Ramesh Hangloo, Working specially for the internally displaced people of Kashmir – the kashmiri Migrants and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.The Programming content on Radio Sharda is in Kashmiri,Dogri,Punjabi, Others(Gojri, Bhaderwahi and Ladhakhi).Available on FM frequency 90.04 in and around Jammu City,the channel aims at widespread Community participation to preserve cultural values along with the entertainment of young and the aged alike, hereby catering to social welfare and community development.
Being the first community radio from J&K to recieve license of CR,Radio Sharda has the onus to revive and preserve the cultural ethos of our community among the progeny.
