680 NewsRadio Toronto (CFTR) is the Greater Toronto Area’s only 24-hour all-news radio station. Owned by Rogers Radio (Rogers Sports & Media), it was one of Canada’s first solo stations to adopt an all-news format. Broadcasting on the AM frequency of 680 kHz with 50,000 watts, the station provides immediate and essential updates on local, national, and international headlines, including comprehensive traffic and weather reports every 10 minutes. The station’s first air date was in August 1962 (under a former call sign) and adopted the all-news format in 1993.
